Dawn was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and daughter, who put everyone else’s needs ahead of hers, especially when it came to her two loving grandchildren, Riley and Zachary.
Mrs. Chitwood was preceded in death by her mother, Helen M., nee Fietsam, Schaefer; her father-in-law, Richard H. Chitwood; and her mother-in-law, Mary J. Chitwood.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Michael B. Chitwood, whom she married on March 30, 1974;
a son, Andrew (Michelle) Chitwood of Glen Carbon, IL;
a daughter, Angela (Eric) Bruce of O’Fallon, IL;
two grandchildren, Riley Lyn and Zachary Michael Chitwood;
her father, Norman Schaefer of Millstadt, IL;
a sister, Donna (Ken) Kinsella of Belleville, IL;
a brother, Mark (Linda) Schaefer of Millstadt, IL;
two brothers-in-law, Clifford (Jeanne) Chitwood of Kirkwood, MO,
and Glen (Nan) Chitwood of St. Jacob, IL;
and aunts and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL with Fr. Dennis Voss officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
