Print Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah L. Verrochi announces her passing after a long and hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s (Posterior Cortical Atrophy Syndrome) on Sunday, July 31st, 2016, at the age of 66 years old.

Debbie will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 42 years, Lawrence “Rock” Verrochi. Their love for each other was never more apparent than in these last four years during which Rock cared for Debbie in their home. Debbie will also be lovingly remembered by her children Meredith (Nikki), John, and Lauren (David), and her beloved grandchild, Marin. Debbie is survived by her sisters, Darlene Belais and Devonda Leperi, and her devoted niece, Deanna Gossman.

Debbie was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. In her own words, her treasured occupation was as a Domestic Engineer. Debbie cherished her many pets through the years and was known for her advocacy on the behalf of animals in need. For most of her life Debbie was a volunteer for The Red Cross. She loved crafting stained glass art, was an avid bird watcher, and loved to dance.

The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 5th, at Cathedral of St. Peter in Belleville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 4th, at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home.

Memorial donations can be made to familyhospice.org. The family would like to thank the staff at Freeburg Care Center, the nurses at Family Hospice, and Home Instead, especially her faithful caregivers Catherine and Jeardean.

Always thought we were kindred spirits–only I had to wait to see what we’d do next. So happy I got to see her at the FC Reunion–Debbie was some of my best AF memories. She was a good woman.
