Delores Loretta Meng, nee Biekert, 91, of Belleville, IL, born October 11, 1925, in Shiloh Valley Township, IL, died Monday, October 31, 2016, at Mercy Rehab and Care Center, Swansea, IL.

Mrs. Meng was a hard-working farm wife, helping her husband in every aspect of their dairy farm southeast of Belleville. She was a 4-H leader and a dedicated mother.  Delores was a member of the St. Clair County Homemakers Association and PSOP where she enjoyed attending dances and other activities.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and belonged to the Perpetual Help Sodality and the ladies quilting group at the Church.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Wayne W. Meng, whom she married on November 29, 1947, and who died on May 31, 1990; her parents, Joseph and Mamie, nee Mueller, Biekert; and one brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Alice Biekert.

Surviving are her twin daughters, Connie (Tony) Welsch of Freeburg, IL,
and Bonnie (David) Fischer of Trenton, IL;
one son, Kenneth (Mary) Meng of Freeburg, IL;
nine grandchildren, Chad (Lisa) Fischer of Arlington Heights, IL,
Todd (Kristin) Fischer of Wauwatosa, WI,
Dawn (Chad) Williams of Jefferson City, TN,
Torrey (Katie) Welsch of Belleville, IL,
Lisa (John) Reinneck of Mascoutah, IL,
Laurie (Warren) Lee of Champaign, IL,
Craig (Kristen) Meng of Freeburg, IL,
Christine Meng of Breese, IL,
and Kerri (Neil) Lange of Stone Church, IL;
16 great-grandchildren, Jake, Kate and Bryn Fischer,
Reese and Taylor Fischer,
Jacob and Kaleb Williams,
Wesley Welsch,
Emily and Grant Reinneck,
Lucy Lee,
Luke, Pete, and John Meng,
and Aubrey and Owen Lange;
one brother, Russ (Sharon) Biekert of Scottsdale, AZ;
and nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Rosewood Care/Mercy Rehab, and Hospice of Southern Illinois for the loving care given to Delores over the last few weeks.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2016, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. James Thomas officiating.

Burial will be at Green Mount Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

Dear Bonnie,Connie and Son.I talked to my sister and found that Lori,your mother died.I went along with her to PSOP dances several years ago.She would pick me up and we went dancing.She was a lovely person,I enjoyed her.In fact I believe there was some relationship in our family and her.My Mom was Anna Weik from Freeburg,Ill.
