Mr. Harmon worked at Scott Air Force Base as a contracting officer. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and camping. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving three years in Vietnam, during the Vietnam war.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, nee Corvey, Polito; and his in-laws Bill and Amanda, nee Mueller, Dill.
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Bonnie, nee Dill, Harmon, whom he married on June 27, 1970;
one sister, Deborah (Bob) Richter;
a niece, Kate Richter;
a special friend, Tom Allbee;
a caregiver, Amy;
numerous other nieces and a nephew;
and a canine companion, Toby.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Private funeral services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
