Dennis was a machinist who had owned The Crank Shop, Millstadt, IL, and also worked for B&D Machinery, Marissa, IL. He was a former volunteer firefighter with Northwest St. Clair County Fire Protection District. He liked to fish, watch NASCAR, and enjoyed cooking and camping. Dennis loved growing vegetables in his garden and most of all spending time with his only grandchild, Mia.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude, nee Weingart, Vander Pluym; a brother, David Vander Pluym; and a brother-in- law, Jerry Brown.
Surviving are his loving wife, Patricia Lorene, nee Neff, Vander Pluym;
two children, Luke Vander Pluym of Chicago, IL, and Jennifer (Eric) Joseph of Smithton, IL;
a granddaughter, Mia Joseph;
his father, David Vander Pluym;
four sisters, Donna (Bill) Foutch, Shari (Bob) Sobczak, Barb Whan (Ron Sobczak), and Shelly (David) Langford;
two brothers-in-law, Elmer (Jeannette) Neff and Ron (Janelle) Neff;
two sisters-in-law, Jeanne Vander Pluym and Darlene Brown;
and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Standard CDC guidelines, including masks, will be observed.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. John Myler officiating.
According to Dennis’s wishes, cremation was held.
