
Mrs. Harris had worked as a reading secretary for District 118 Title 1. She had also previously worked for District 201 as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Autistic Program and Parents and Friends of Specialized Living Center. Dolores was a past member of Hope Church, Belleville, IL, and an active member at Union United Methodist Church, Belleville, IL. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. Dolores was a generous, helpful, and caring person. She was the cornerstone of the family for many years and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William E. “Bill” Harris, whom she married on August 28, 1948, and who died on June 8, 2007; her parents, Albert and Margurite, nee Finklien, Marlin; her stepfather, Archie Rief; two sisters, Shirley (Lorraine) Daesch and Nancy (Bob) Devros; a niece, Rebecca Reiman; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Harris.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy (Fred “Jay”) Ellis and Susan (Brad) Holcomb, both of Belleville, IL; three grandchildren, Carl (Heather) Biegler Jr., Erin Holcomb, and Emily Holcomb; a great-grandchild, Kailyn Biegler; a sister-in-law, Doris Harris of Lusby, MD; seven nephews, Ken and Mark Harris, Jeremy, Jim and Scott Devros, and Jeff and Gary Daesch; and many dear friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. B. Pardo and Heartland Hospice for all their care and emotional support.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Harvey Gaither officiating.
Private burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
