Don was an electrical engineer earning his degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was a Ham Radio Operator, call sign WN9V. Don was a member of the St. Clair Amateur Radio Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Julia, nee Kohl, Wittlich; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Wittlich.
Surviving are his wife Susan, nee Baukema, Wittlich; two children, Alan Phillip (Erin) Wittlich, and Rowan Escher Wittlich; two grandchildren, Jonas Phillip Wittlich, and Eugene Robert Wittlich; a brother, Jack Eugene Wittlich; and a sister, Jill (Mark) Fleishman.
