Mr. Arndt was a retired lineman for Illinois Power Company, where he worked for 39 years. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a member of Belleville Elks Lodge 481, and the Catholic War Veterans.
Don was and avid bowler, loved to travel, and enjoyed the beauty of nature and the outdoors.
He loved to hunt, fish, take walks, and search for Indian artifacts. He deeply loved his wife, Alice, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer J. and Mary Helen, nee Burns, Arndt; a sister, Norma J. Jones, and the mother of his children, Mary Alice Arndt.
Surviving are his devoted and loving wife of 33 years, Alice M. Arndt, nee Ebert, whom he married May 21, 1983, in Belleville, IL;
his loving children, sons, Jeff (Sally) Arndt, and Steve (Leslie) Arndt, both of Smithton, IL,
and a daughter, Julie (Tim) Coggeshall, of Belleville, IL;
seven grandchildren, Daniel (Amanda), Kevin, Alex,
Natalie, and Andrew Arndt, and Morgan and Nathan Coggeshall;
nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
