Donald Miller, Jr.

Donald E. Miller, Jr., 66, of New Athens, IL, born January 29, 1957, in East St. Louis, IL, died Saturday, June 24, 2023, at his residence with family by his side.

Don was a member of Roofer’s Local #2 and retired after over 20 years of service. He loved to ride motorcycles. Don enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and any other outdoor activities. His friends had given him the nickname “Hitler”. He will be sorely missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. Sr., and Mildred T., nee Lyman, Miller; a stepson, Jeffrey Huffman; and his second wife, Susan Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Judith A. Miller, whom he married December 16, 1989; a son, Jason (Kelly) Miller of St. Libory, IL;
two stepdaughters, Amber Clubb (Jeremy Pfannebecker) of Freeburg, IL, and Heather (Brian) Yurgec of New Athens, IL; his grandchildren, Trinity and Madison Miller, Breanna (Doug) Mank, Lexy (Staton) O’Dell, Zach and Lidiah Hoffarth, and Corey Barnett; three great-grandchildren, Troy, Vivienne, and Juniper O’Dell;
two sisters, Donna (Melvin) Howie and Carol Chaney; nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral: Cremation will follow the visitation. A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 8327 Lost Dog Road, New Athens, IL.
