Donald A. Reeb, 83, of Shiloh, IL, born August 14, 1940, in Belleville, IL, to Clement and Olivia, nee Hoeffken, Reeb, died peacefully, Monday, March 25, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO, surrounded by his family.

Don was a 1958 graduate of Cathedral High School and a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.  He was employed by AT&T in St. Louis, MO for 32 years. Don was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O’Fallon, IL, since its inception.

Don was an avid golfer and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his fellow Cathedral graduates, either at golf outings or lunches.

He was a kind, compassionate and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Olivia; and a brother-in-law, Cal Mank.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy, nee Machinsky, Reeb; three daughters Kristen (Jeff) Figge, Karen (Dennis) Fulton, and Ellen (Jon) Phillips.  He was “Bop” to grandsons, Nicholas, Luke, and Ben Figge, and Henry and Michael Phillips.  He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Mank; his twin brother, David (Rita) Reeb; a brother-in-law, Bob Machinsky; and nieces and nephews, Andy, Laura, David, Tricia, Doug, and Dan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Donate Life America (donatelife.net) or St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Drive, O’Fallon, IL.

Funeral:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Drive, O’Fallon, IL, with Fr. Nicholas Junker and Msgr. William Hitpas concelebrating.

Private burial will be held.

Judy I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss. Don was such a great man. Such a family man - you and the girls and the grandkids meant everything to him. He will be so missed by so many. Again, my condolences and my prayers for all of you. May he rest in peace. Mary

My condolences to the family on your loss. I never actually met Don (or his brother Dave) but shared countless e-mails with him over the years. Somehow I got into their e-group of what I believe were all fellow high school grads. Over the months we share opinions and observations on everything from politics to the demise of the Belleville News-Democrat. I will certainly miss interacting with him.

I was looking up someone else's obit, when I accidentally came across Don's. I felt surprised and sick. My goodness I am so very sorry, Judy and everyone. He was indeed a very kind, nice, and gentle man. My sincerest sympathy.
