Donna graduated from St. Teresa Academy in 1952. She was a member of Cathedral of St. Peter Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. She also was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 1, The Moose Chapter 76 of Caseyville, IL, the Belleville Elks Lodge 481, and the St. Clair County Legal Auxiliary. Donna was affectionately known as “Nana” by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. Grossmann; her parents, Leo N. and Dorothy, nee Lewis, Mackin; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis J. and Edna Grossmann; four brothers, William M. Mackin, Leo E. Mackin, Sr., Kenneth E. Mackin, and Philip J. Mackin; a son-in-law, Michael S. Cassady; two brothers-in-law, Edwin Carney and Adolph T. Fischer; two sisters-in-law, Beulah Fischer and Betty Mackin; a nephew, Leo E. Mackin, Jr.; a niece, Debra, nee Mackin, Foley; and a great niece, Eden E. Neville.
Surviving are her three daughters, Jean M. Cassady, Linda S. (Richard) Cassady, and Angela L. (Thomas, Jr.) Roewe; five grandchildren, Matthew R. (Jessica) Cassady, Alicia M. (Thomas) Chartrand, and Ryan M. Cassady, Zachary L. and Ian T. Roewe; six great-grandchildren, Seth Hanthorne, Cody Haire, Colton L. Cassady, Jack W., Alexis R. and Paige K. Chartrand; two brothers, Thomas J. (Ginger) Mackin and Paul R. Mackin; three sisters, Marianne Carney, Bonita (Dennis) Gonzales, and Barbara S. Mackin; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Mackin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
