Throughout her lifetime, Dora was a member of various church and social organizations. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt, IL. Dora was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a very kind, thoughtful, and giving person. There was not a day that passed that she did not give someone a nice compliment.
Dora was a major influence in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Kostelac Jr.; her parents, James and Dora, nee Geehan, O’Brien; her brother, James O’Brien; and her sister, Mary M. O’Brien.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Catherine (Mark) Bauer of Belleville, IL;
two sons, John (Marlene) Kostelac III,
and Jim (Nancy) Kostelac, both of Belleville, IL;
six grandchildren, Kelly (Damon) Bauer Joslin,
Shon (JoAnn) Bauer,
John Kostelac IV,
Jaclyn Kostelac,
James “Jamie” Kostelac II,
and Kendra “KK” Kostelac;
eight great-grandchildren;
and numerous cousins.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dora’s caregivers, Alicia, Barbie, Betty, Burnetta, Deanna, JoAnn, Lucy, and Sandy for their loving care through her final months of life. Thanks are also extended to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: There will be no visitation, as it was Mrs. Kostelac’s wish to donate her body to Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
Funeral: A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt, IL, with Msgr. Volk officiating.
