Doris J. Johannsen, nee Fallon, 94, of Swansea, IL, born July 6, 1928, in Belleville, IL, died June 27, 2023, at St. Elizabeths hospital, O’Fallon, IL.
Doris was a lifelong resident of Swansea, IL for 70 years. Doris was an avid Saint Louis Cardinal baseball fan. She adored her grandchildren, known to them as Memom. Doris was a super kind person, always helping the neighbors. Doris was a past member and founder of Peace Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Walter Dale Johannsen, whom she married on August 26, 1950; her son, Eric Stephan Johannsen; her mother, Carmen E., nee Emge, Fallon; her sister, Carol A. Montgomery; and her grandparents, William F. and Bertha D., nee Wild, Emge.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Karin (Kenneth) Darr and Kristine Elizabeth (Don) Schneider; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Johannsen; eight grandchildren, Kimberley (Loren) Cook, Amy (Christopher) Koudelka, Kristopher (Kristen) Darr, Julie (Dave) Irby, Kevin (Jen) Darr, Kyle Darr, Lindsay (Gary) Craig, and Elise Hassall; 16 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Shelby, and Sarah Cook, Kenzie and Cooper Koudelka, Ean and Emmie Darr, Paige Irby, Patrick Donohue, Kevin, Harrison, and Lucas Darr, Rae Ellen, Dean, and Walter Craig, and Ayva Morrill; and her friend, Rita Strumberg;

Funeral: According to Doris’s wishes, cremation services were held. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
