Doris A. Likes, nee Kuhlman, 93, of Belleville, IL, born February 7, 1923, in Hannibal, MO, died Saturday, January 14, 2017, at St. Paul’s Senior Community, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Likes was a federal employee for 27 years at Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, IL, before her retirement.  She spent another 13 years working for several communications agencies in the civilian community with the latter one being the contracting firm of ASC & Associates, LTD, Belleville, IL.   She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE); Women of the Moose Chapter #53; the LIFT Club; and an active member of a bridge club.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Leo H. Likes, whom she married on November 21, 1943 at St. Peter’s Church, Quincy, IL, and who died on August 8, 1996; her parents, Roy and Ora, nee Ryan, Kuhlman; and her brother, Roy M. Kuhlman.

Surviving are three sons, Chris S. Likes of Alton, IL,
Scott K. (Paulette) Likes of Collinsville, IL,
and Kelly K. (Barbara) Likes of Belleville, IL;
three grandsons, Joel Cheatham (Morgan) Likes of Jasper, FL,
Kyle K. Likes and Curtis K. Likes, both of Belleville, IL;
one granddaughter, Rachel J. Likes of Belleville, IL;
a cousin, Carol Peter of Payson, IL;
and loving in-laws;
nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Funeral:  According to Doris’ wishes, cremations services and a private family gathering were held at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Burial of cremains was at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
