Mrs. Abegg was a checker retired from Eckert’s Market and a member of Meat Cutters Local 534. She was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Parish, Belleville, IL.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leo Walter Abegg, whom she married on October 8, 1945, and who died on February 1, 2003; a daughter, Diana Abegg; her parents, Henry and Della, nee Gallamore, Spray; and a brother, Henry Spray Jr.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Lee) Vermeiren of St. Clair, MO,
Brenda (Terry) Mathias of Belleville, IL,
and Laura Abegg of Swansea, IL;
a grandson, Jason (Shannon) Vermeiren of St. Clair, MO;
and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Koen.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the church with Msgr. William McGhee officiating. Burial will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
