Dorothy M. Georgen, nee Heine, 87, of Belleville, IL, born, February 7, 1930, in Modoc, IL, died Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Georgen was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality.  She enjoyed quilting at the church, doing puzzles, reading books, spending time with family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Arthur J. Georgen, whom she married November 25, 1954, and who died on December 20, 2009; her parents, Edward and Freida, nee Wiegard, Heine; two brothers, Ardell and Delbert Heine; two sisters, Anna Marie and Judy Heine; sisters-in-law; and a brother-in law.

Surviving are her four children, Kathy (Dave) McCarty of Glen Ellyn, IL,
Debbie (Bob) Bruns of Lemont, IL,
Randy (Janice, nee Parker) Georgen of Belleville, IL,
and Joe (Mary Jo, nee Peters) Georgen of Lake Zurich, IL;
nine grandchildren, Sarah, nee Woolsey, (Eric) Maddux of Libertyville, IL,
Erik (Jessy) Woolsey of Elmhurst, IL,
Daniel (Mallory) Bruns of Downers Grove, IL,
Matthew (Dezirae Ninow) Bruns of Geneva, IL,
Jared Bruns of Decatur, IL,
Brad and Michael Georgen of St. Louis, MO,
Elena and Olivia Georgen of Lake Zurich, IL;
five great-grandchildren, Ian, Avery and Reed Maddux,
Benjamin and Emma Woolsey;
her four siblings, Vernon Heine, Rita Deterding, Verona Schwartz,
and Ruth Wessel;
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law;
many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be made to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows or The Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Mercy.   Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
Burial will be alongside her husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.

I'm sending my deepest sympathies to Mrs. Georgen's entire family. I met her in 1958, when my family moved next door to her. She was so kind and caring-always available to lend an ear. I'll greatly miss visiting her, when I'm in town.
