Mrs. Prather was born November 12, 1925, in New Athens, IL. She retired as a housekeeper from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL. Dorothy was a wonderful seamstress. She enjoyed family time, trips to Branson, and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Leroy M. “Bill” Prather, whom she married on November 6, 1948, and who died on May 20, 2003; one daughter, Marcia Lynn Prather; her parents, Carl F. and Frieda, nee Haas, Klinckhardt; and five sisters, Marie Brenner, Bernice Kaemmerer, Gloria “Momie” Swierczek, Carol Jean Korte, and Kathleen Klinckhardt, in infancy.
Surviving are two sons and three daughters, William (Carol) Prather of Millstadt, IL,
Linda Sue (Larry) Lanham of Freeburg, IL,
Cynthia (Daniel) Kampwerth of Summerfield, IL,
Charlene (Mark) Snyder of Centralia, IL,
and James Prather of Belleville, IL;
12 grandchildren;
twenty great-grandchildren;
two great-great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Louise Kreitner of Belleville, IL,
and Betty Gansmann of Washington, MO;
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Fr. Stan Konieczny officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
