Mrs. Yates was employed in the cafeteria of Southwestern Illinois College, Belleville, IL, before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jack Yates, who died October 7, 2017; and her parents, Robert and Ethel Biggs.
Surviving are four children, Bernard (Penny) Jones of Windsor, MO, Denise Jones-Boyle of Swansea, IL, Theresa Jones-Kebel of Fairview Heights, IL, and Jack Yates of Belleville, IL;
four grandchildren, Michael Jones, Sarah (Ben) Etling, Cassandra Boyle, and Alicia Kebel;
three great-grandchildren, Emma S. Boyle, Littia Jones, and Scoirse R. Etling;
a brother, Robert Biggs of Banbury, Oxford, England;
and a sister-in-law, Jeannette “Sue” (Jim) Fricke of Lansing, KS.
