Jerry J. Bosse, PhD, 79, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Belleville, IL, born March 3, 1941, in Belleville, IL, died Sunday, May 17, 2020, due to complications from Covid-19, at St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Dr. Bosse was the founder and sole practitioner of Life Appreciation Therapy.  He believed that excellent mental health and general life satisfaction could be attained by choosing peace and joy.  He was an early pioneer in the use of guided meditation to increase mindfulness.  Through his practice and leadership at Aaron Psychology Centers, he helped facilitate peace and joy in the lives of thousands.

Dr. Bosse was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Viola, nee Jobe, Loeb; and a grandson, Maximilian Bosse.

Surviving are six children, Donna Craig (Stephen Montgomery), Deborah (Mark) Schilly, Deanna (Justin) Brown, Jerry Bosse II, Denise Clark, and Jeffery (Kanha) Bosse;
ten grandchildren, Gabriel and Gavin Craig, Nathan, Abigail, and Lydia Schilly, Brian (Lilly) Lewis, Corey Lewis, Cali (David) Becker, Nina Disbrow, and Alexander Bosse;
and four great-grandchildren, Charles and Anna Lewis, and Hadley and Easton Becker.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Covid-19 Fund or to St. Louis Arc. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Funeral: A private graveside service will be held.

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

I met Jerry when i was 11 years old he picked me up once a week took me to breakfast for 3 years straight. Im so sorry covid took you Dr.Bosse i really did love you and appreciate your wise words and a friendly ear. You will be missed dearly i love you my friend!!❤

I met Mr. Bosse decades ago through his son, Jerry. He had a warm, welcoming spirit which I still recall fondly. My sincere condolences to his family on their loss.

Dad, you were always a wonderful father and a great example for all. For many years, you were my closest confidant due to your excellent judgement and foresight. Words can not begin to express just how much you were truly loved not just by me, but so many others. The world lost a wonderful man this week. I will miss you so much. Love, Jerry

Deepest sympathy to Jerry's family. He was my cousin and very good at counseling. He made himself available to me when my son's illness had me in deep depression. Rest in peace

My deepest sympathy to you all. I remember Jerry from many, many years ago. He was in the boy scout troop of which my late husband was the Scoutmaster. Blaine always spoke so highly of Jerry. I also was acquainted with his mother. I am sorry that this virus had to cut short his life.
