Edward “Ed” Vincent Rust, 79, of Belleville, IL, born February 6, 1942, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, October 4, 2021, at his residence.

Ed was a man of unwavering faith and a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. He graduated in 1962 from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN, with a degree in Civil Engineering.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. and Pauline, nee Shremp, Rust; and three sisters, Dolores Kern, Edna Mae Semon, and Rose Miester.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Judith “Judy” M., nee Schott, Rust, whom he married on August 31, 1962; two daughters, Michelle T. (Patrick) Murray of Latonsville, MD, and Dr. Susan E. (Dr. Philip) Robilotto of Latonsville, MD; a son, Edward V. Jr. (Lynne) Rust of O’Fallon, IL; nine grandchildren, Patrick Jr. (Angela) Murray, Brigid Murray, Maura Murray, Liam Murray, Sean Murray, Phillip Robilotto, Reid Robilotto, Cole Robilotto, and Trenton Rust and two great-grandchildren, Falicity Murray and Max Murray.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL. Standard CDC guidelines will be followed, including masks and social distancing.

 Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Private burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

Please accept my sincere sympathy, Judy Eddie was such a great person, and it was a privilege knowing him He was kind and so smart, with a humility that was inspiring. May he rest in the peace of God, who will reward him for his long suffering
