Eileen Shaw

Print Obituary
On July 28, 2022, beloved and adored wife, sister, and aunt, Eileen T. (Bagnall) Shaw went gently into the night.  Born in Boston, Mass, Eileen was a resident of the world.  First with her parents and later with Peter, her husband of 36 years, Eileen lived all over the United States, making lifelong friends wherever she went.

Eileen never met a stranger.  She made friends into family and made our family that much stronger.   She exuded love and kindness — accepting people for who they were and always loving them for and not in spite of it.

A life-long learner, Eileen was open and receptive to new ideas.  She sought out as much information as she could find on any topic that interested her, quickly becoming an expert in many areas.  She was a voracious reader and was always eager to discuss the latest books she’d read.  An avid gardener, she was able to grow tomatoes in almost every zone, but her bay leaves will always be legendary.  Eileen was also a phenomenal chef who took great pride in passing on her kitchen secrets to her nieces and nephews.

Eileen was able to parlay her life’s gifts into two exceptional careers.  Her culinary skills and knowledge were heightened during her years at Williams Sonoma, but she discovered her dream career ten years ago when she became a real estate agent in the Panama City Beach area.  She was dedicated to her clients and after countless moves, she had a keen sense of understanding exactly what they needed.  She was a proud Ambassador of the Chamber of Commerce of Panama City and member of CPAR.

Gone too soon at 59, was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gwendolyn (Tirrell) Bagnall.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; sister, Lisa Bagnall; brother-in-law, Bill (Marlene) Shaw; sister-in-law, Pam Bittick; nieces, Jennifer Shaw and Melanie (Charles) Dow; nephews, Jonathan Shaw, and Zach (Frances) Myslinski; and 4 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends and family are encouraged to open that good bottle of red wine and to lift a glass in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Panhandle Association of Realtors Habitat for Humanity House (www.cpar.us/forms/donate-to-habitat-for-humanity) or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed online at www.Rennerfh.com

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, 120 North Illinois Street, Belleville, IL, 62220, with Deacon Corby Valentine officiating. Visitation will be available starting at 1:00 pm on that day.

We had the pleasure of meeting Eileen several times surrounding the wedding and new baby of her nephew Zack with our daughter Frances. She was a generous, genuine, and very kind woman. She was easy to get to know and had an inviting warmth about her. She was very sweet to our daughter. We know that she will be very much missed by the family and by all who knew her. With deep condolences, Mike and Mary Jane Zuzolo
