Eileen was a medical secretary and retired from the office of Dr. Brethauer and Dr. Thouvenot after 43 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, IL, and had been a Sunday school teacher for more than 45 years at the church. Eileen was a former member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Belleville, IL and a former member of the Zonta Club, Belleville, IL. She had a love for working in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alvena, nee Voelkel, Wetzel; and a sister, Pearl Wetzel.
She is survived by several close cousins, and very dear friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville, IL, or St. Paul’s Senior Community, or the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship, or the Memorial Foundation, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
