I met Ellie at SLU. She was a good friend, good student, amazing artist, and exceptional person. When I first found out what had happened, I was shocked and angry. However, I know how difficult the battle has been and that she is now at peace. I am so sorry for your loss.

As a teacher, it is rare to get to teach a student that stands out from all the rest for their exceptional talent. Ellie was exceptional in music, her class work and her positive attitude as she fought this medical challenge with such courage. Her life may have been short, but she left a huge imprint on all the people that crossed her path. Brian, you have raised not only one exceptional child but three exceptional children! Praying now for Brian, Anna, and Norah during this time of heartache.

I never met Ellie but no one bragged about their grandchildren more than her Grandma Mary. Ellie was such an integral part of the family and I know she will be missed every day. I felt the need to do something for the family, but did not know what, so I prayed for Ellie and put her on several prayer chains to be prayed for. I know she is pain free and with her momma, both resting in the arms of our eternal God. My thoughts and prayers will remain with all of you for days and weeks to come. God Bless you all and may your sorrow be comforted by all the remarkable, wonderful memories you have made thru the years.

Ellie was a light to this world. I have countless memories of watching her grow up! Every time I think of her wonderful, brilliant, quirky, honest, authentic personality, I smile. She was one-of-a-kind and the truest and most creative and genuine first-friend we could have hoped for for our daughter. Brian, you and Pam created such amazing daughters. We love you all and are so very sorry for your loss and grief.
