A 1938 graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame, Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and a proud 4th-generation “Bellevillian”. She was a charter member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, a member of the Queenship of Mary Sodality at St. Augustine’s, and a long-time parish and school volunteer.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 60 ½ years, John H. Miller, whom she married on December 15, 1945, and who died on July 19, 2006; a son, Stephen J. Miller; her parents, Anton and Elizabeth, nee Walter, Cordie; a sister, Florence Cordie; and a brother, Lester Cordie.
Surviving are two sons, Richard (Patricia) Miller of Lebanon, IL,
and Kevin (Diana) Miller of Kirkwood, MO;
five grandchildren, Melinda Miller, Richard (Lesli) Miller, Christopher Miller,
Michael (Lelynn) Miller, and Elizabeth Miller;
three great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Miller, Mary Beth Miller, and Lincoln Miller;
a brother, Anthony Cordie;
and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, from the funeral home for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating. Burial will follow at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
