She was a dedicated Christian who loved to read the Bible. She went to Bible Study and Fellowship for eight years and she loved to study the living words of Jesus. She had been a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class since 2012, and she volunteered with the Sunday morning services at NHC Parklane. She loved Jesus and trusted him for everything. She worked as a dog groomer with Poodle and Pals for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Jungclaus; her second husband, Joe Carl Stroud; a daughter, Deanna Orr; a sister, Chrystal Herbstreit; and three brothers, Edward Gain, John Gain, and Billy Gain.
Ernie is survived by her children, Kenneth Jungclaus, Jonathan Jungclaus, and Melinda Greene; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Marie Martinez; and a brother, Luther Gain.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
