I think I met Mrs Schloesser once at an EC-47 reunion. Stan was our maintenance officer at Danang charged with keeping those old birds, some dating to WWII airworthy and safe. I was a young lieutenant pilot and all of us just took it for granted that our aircraft were good to go and they always were. Stan was steady, kind, professional and a consummate gentleman. It was no surprise that his wife was equally charming. I’m very sorry they’re both gone now. They’ve left a wonderful family to carry on and the gratitude of all who knew them. That’s a great legacy.

Our sincere condolences to Ethel's family. We got to know Ethel & Stan while they lived in upstate New York where we lived at the time. We enjoyed some good times together. May Ethel now join Stan & rest in peace.
