Fudge enjoyed bowling and watching sports. She loved to bake, and her specialties included cheesecakes and apple pies. She loved being a homemaker and spending time with all the family. But, most of all, she was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Florence was a sweet and loving lady.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Michael J. Ockovic, whom she married on November 28, 1946, and who died on December 11, 2007; her father, Stanley Sikorski; her mother, Stephanie, nee Zdrojewski, Buncher; a brother, Stanley (Ann) Sikorski; and three sisters, Helen (Woodrow) Johnston, Celia (Edward) Maser, and Clara (Steve) Ober.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Patricia Ockovic of O’Fallon, IL;
a granddaughter, Tracey (Brian) DeGrave of Asheville, NC;
a great-granddaughter, Emily Grace Delaney;
and a brother, Chuck (Sharon) Buncher.
The Ockovic family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Columbia Rehab & Nursing Center for their wonderful care of Florence for the past seven years.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
