Gary was a loving, devoted, and faithful husband and father. He was a lifetime student and researcher who earned his master’s degree in physical chemistry from Wichita State University. Gary worked as a chemist at GlaxoSmithKline before his retirement and became a 50-year member of the American Chemical Society. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Gary worshipped Jesus as a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond A. Hipp; his parents, John Jacob and Viola T. Hipp, nee Harkins; and a brother, John Jay Hipp.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Corazon Hipp, nee Benitez; two daughters, Christine Hipp and JoAnn (Andrew) Heap; three grandchildren, Athena, Eaen and Vivienne Heap; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family would like to thank all their family and friends, for their care, concern, prayers, love and kindness during this difficult time.

Funeral: A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Godfrey Mullen, OSB, and Msgr. Jack McEvilly concelebrating.
Burial of cremated remains will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
