George Bert White, 84, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Crossett, AR, born February 7, 1930 in Ashley County, AR, died Thursday, January 8, 2015, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mr. White was the owner of Major Motors in Arnold, MO, for over thirty years and was a U.S.  Air Force veteran who served in Korea during the Korean Conflict.

George was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Marion Elizabeth, nee Dehn, White, whom he married on September 9, 1950, and who died on May 4, 2014; his parents, George Carlton and Mattie Lucretia, nee Smith, White; and three brothers, Archie Carlton White, Lester Stephen “Buddy” White, and James Wesley White.

Surviving are his sister, Mary Annette Gaunt of Bryant, AR;
two sisters-in-law, Burnette Heely and Helen Phillips, both of Belleville, IL;
and nieces and nephews.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2015, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2015, at the funeral home with Rev. Cari Frus officiating.  Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
