Gerald D. Hardin, of Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at St. Paul’s Senior Community, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Hardin grew up in Florida where he entered the United States Air Force.  After serving eight years, including time at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington D.C., he entered the banking industry. Gerald worked in bank management in Florida and Georgia. He later was employed by the NCR Corporation which led him to the Chicago area, then to St. Louis, MO. He retired from his final work position in sales from the St. Louis Airport in March 2020. He enjoyed playing golf and made golf clubs. Mr. Hardin was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Evelyn, nee Harrel, Hardin; and three sisters, Pat, Shirley, and Cheryl.

Surviving are his four children, Alexis Hardin, Jeri Lynn (Larry) Lewallen, Michael (Marie) Hardin, and Mark (Tracy) Hardin;
six grandchildren, Dylan Hardin, Kallen Henslee, Aleasha Jimenez, Jennifer Turner, and Justin Gaddison;
four great-grandchildren;
and the mother of Alexis, Shirley Hardin.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, to the American Cancer Association, to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, or to Family Hospice.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Brian Downs officiating. Standard CDC guidelines, including masks and social distancing will be implemented at the church.
