Gerald received his accounting certificate from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. He and his wife, Waneita, retired on the same day together from McDonnell Douglas, St. Louis, MO. Gerald was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rowland Otto and Katherine, nee Steriniski, Otto Soloduk; his grandson, Keith Ray Fietsam; and his brother, Olney F. (Marge) Otto.
Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, whom he married January 20, 1951, Waneita R., nee Fogilphol, Otto;
his daughter, Debra A. (Gordon E.) Fietsam of Millstadt, IL;
his grandson, Ryan Joseph Fietsam of Millstadt, IL;
and many other family members and friends.

Burial will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
