Words cannot express this loss and the void left in all of our hearts. Grant was a creative force and an inspiration to us all. He showed us his vision in life and how he saw the world always seemed to be so beautiful. Let us carry on his passions and let his spirit push us further every day. So much love, Sophie and Michael

So many of my memories at St. Teresa, Althoff and beyond involve Grant. He was a friend to everyone, a stranger to none, and one of the most talented artists I’ve ever known. My heart is completely broken… and I know many others’ are too. He was the guy who knew how to make us laugh and smile — and he knew how to throw a heck of a Halloween in July party or a surprise birthday party. He was so loved by all. Sending my deepest sympathies to Carole and the rest of his family. We love you, Grant.

I am heart sick and devastated. I was lucky enough to spend time with Grant at ISU. He was one of the highlights of my day and I loved any time I was able to get with him, Grant was charming, witty, darling, brilliant, creative, fascinating, and classically handsome. I always assumed that I would be reading about him in Variety one day. Grant was one of those extraordinary people that made everyone better for just having known him. I am so very sorry for your loss. I promise you that he will live on in so many hearts. Grant was a precious, shooting star and I consider myself so lucky to have experienced his light. All of my thoughts are with his family.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Grant. I was one of his photo teachers at ISU. Grant’s work was very smart and I thought he would do very well in art school and beyond in whatever career he chose. He was a very friendly and likable person, helpful to his peers and a pleasure to be around. I think every teacher dreads to hear about the loss of a student. A deep loss.
