
Greg worked as a carpenter for his brother’s residential construction business, Meise Construction, until a rare disease forced him into retirement a year ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul E. and Philomena J., nee Tarczon, Meise; and his siblings, Christopher T. Meise and Laura D. Rujawitz.
Surviving are his siblings, Patricia, Pauline (Scott Keller), Deborah, Louise, Paul (Melissa), John (Anita), Pamela (Dave Sonnenberg), Joseph, Cherryl (Mark Werges) and Kenneth (Susie); former sisters-in-law, Wendy Kammler Dodd, Vicki Racer Meise, and Angela Forker Meise; nieces and nephews, Julia (Ryan Haeffele), Alex, Jordan,Emily (Josh Baird), Kaitlynn, Michael (fiancé Samantha Simms), Halley, Morgan, Nolan, Allison and Chelsea; grand-nieces, Lucy and Audrey; step-nephews and nieces, Rob Davis (Kari), Brad Davis (Laura), Amanda Pankey (Tyler), Tim Forker (Crystal), Jake Richards and Brittney Richards; and numerous friends, including the best neighbors, Sam and Connie DeCourcey and LaVar White.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Siteman Cancer Center for the care and support Greg received over the past 4-1/2 years.
Per Greg’s wishes, a private visitation for immediate families and close friends will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Private funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Fr. James Deiters officiating. Burial will follow immediately after at Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
