Gregory L. Moake, 63, of Belleville, born April 26, 1954, in Carbondale, IL, died Sunday, February 4, 2018.

Greg was a hard-working family man.  He worked for many years in the coal mines and retired as a mine manager from Peabody Coal Company in Marissa, IL. He was a generous man who enjoyed all his electronics. Greg could never have enough gadgets or black t-shirts.  He loved animals, especially his companion  Charley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Georgia L., nee West, Moake; a brother, Charles “Eddie” Moake, Jr; and a sister, Judith Etling, nee Moake;

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Moake-Grayson of New Baden, IL;
two grandchildren, Anna and Emmie Grayson;
a brother, Clifton Ward (Penney) Moake of Mascoutah, IL;
a sister, Joan E. Moake of Glen Carbon, IL;
four nephews, Brian Akridge, Richard (Melanie) Smith, Shawn (Amy) Moake,
and Zebulon Moake;
two nieces, Nicole (Kevin) Kueker and Rachael Moake;
and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral:  A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL, with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating.

I am so sorry to hear about Greg. I went to school with him in Johnston City and played all sports with him. He was a super nice guy. I got to see him approx. 20 years ago with his dad at his property east of Johnston City. He will be missed greatly. Sorry for your loss.
