Harriet was born November 16, 1921, in Belleville. She was a life-long resident of Belleville, attended Washington Grade School and Belleville Township High School. While in high school, she was voted school queen for the class of 1939.
Harriet was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Belleville. She was an active bridge player, loved traveling to all parts of the country and the world, and thoroughly enjoyed cooking meals for her family. However, her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When they walked into the room, her eyes would light up and a huge smile would cover her face. She dearly loved and adored her family.
Harriet was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years and the love of her life, Howard H. Lippert, whom she married on March 12, 1941, at First Presbyterian Church in Belleville; her parents, August and Wilhemina, nee Renner, Wiechert; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Clarence Gruenewald; and two brothers-in-law, William Reed and Floyd Lippert.
