Hazel E. Kamper, nee Nold, 95, of Freeburg, IL, born March 1, 1921, in New Athens, IL, died Monday, October 31, 2016, at Cedar Trails, Freeburg, IL.

Mrs. Kamper worked as a secretary for two years after high school and then became of homemaker.  Hazel was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL.  She was a member of St. Paul’s ladies guild and Mary Martha’s group at the church.  Hazel was also a former member of the Freeburg Grade School P.T. A.  She was a #1 St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan who never missed watching a game on television.

Mrs. Kamper was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon F. Kamper, whom she married September 4, 1943, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL; a son, John C. Kamper; a daughter, Kathryn Reese; her parents, William and Selma, nee Junk, Nold; and a brother, James Nold.

Surviving are her daughter, Jeanne (Tony) Meredith, Coulterville, IL;
six grandchildren, Scott (Janell) Lanter of Mascoutah, IL,
Brian (Kristy) Schaefer of Antioch, TN,
Shane (Jean) Reinneck of Belleville, IL,
John (Lisa) Reinneck of Mascoutah, IL,
Kelli (John) Scaiefe and Allison Reese, both of Belleville, IL,
ten great-grandchildren, Justin and Nolan Reinneck,
Emily and Grant Reinneck,
Liam and Karson Scaiefe,
McKenna and Nathan Lanter,
and Grady and Wyatt Schaefer.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016, at George Renner &Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday November 4, 2016, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL, with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating.

Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Kamper. I remember her fondly and enjoyed visiting her farm. Many, many wonderful memories of her and her beautiful old farm house.
She will be missed by many, including me.
