Helen M. Beatty, nee Seibel, 90, of Belleville, IL, born September 1, 1924, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Helen worked as a telephone operator during World War II and for an additional seven years, after which she obtained a real estate broker’s license and sold real estate for 12 years.  Following this, she became a budget/program analyst for the U.S. Army and retired from the Army Aviation Systems Command in 1984.

Helen enjoyed swimming, boating, water-skiing, and bowling in her earlier years.  As she got older, she played golf, read many books, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlynn E. Beatty; her son, Stephen J. Mitchell; her parents, Henry and Anna, nee Munie, Seibel; her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Dean Eccles; and her niece, Janis Eccles.

Surviving are her granddaughter, Kelly (Tom) Garreis
and their children, Abigail and Noah Garreis;
her nephew, Keith Eccles;
Gayle Wilkins, dear friend of her son, Stephen;
cousins; and friends.

At Mrs. Beatty’s request, no funeral services will be held.  Inurnment will be at Valhalla Mausoleum, Belleville, IL.
