Helen worked for Western Union and for Grimm & Gorly Florist in Belleville before her retirement. She was a former member of Union United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Streck was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Cyril Streck, whom she married on October 15, 1949, and who died on March 28, 1991; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathleen Streck; her parents, Luther and Lillie, nee Harbaugh, Ambrose; two brothers, James Ambrose and Harold Ambrose; and one sister, Ellajean Moore.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Samuel, Sean, and Stacie Streck;
one sister, Pauline “Polly” King of Scottville, IL;
one brother-in-law, Kenneth Moore of Virden, IL;
two sisters-in-law, Eloise Ambrose of Scottville, IL,
and Eva Ambrose of Tempe, AZ;
close friends and neighbors, Doug and Debbie Reed;
her best friend of 65 years, Maxine Matl;
nieces and nephews;
and other friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Harvey Gaither officiating.
Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.

Helen when I first met her when I started to work at Sycamore Village. She talked so low u couldn’t hardly hear her. She was such a special lady never asked for much. And some of the stories she told me of her life was interesting. She told me about when the snow plow blocked her street and she could’ve get thru she just grabbed her shovel out of the trunk and started to remove the snow and the snowplow came by and he said lady what are undoing she said well I have to get home so I’m moving the snow he said lady get back in your car I’ll move it faster than u and your shovel can. Love you and miss you my Helen.
