Dear Vollmer family, We were saddened to hear of Herb's passing and know all who loved him will be comforted knowing that he led such an outstanding, long life. We have such fond memories of Herb while spending time at Weshy and Heidi's. We had some very special and memorable Christmas Eve's together. May you find peace knowing that he was such a sweet and kind man and loved by many. God Bless.

There was nothing better than seeing “the boys” Harry, Herbert & Aaron cone strolling in around 930-10pm to Bettys in Elwood, IL to share some quirky laughs & just hearing them with their stories. They were better than the 3 Muskateers. Much love to your family. May you have many happy & loving lifetime memories in your hearts - forever & ever.

I was sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. He was such a special man & great neighbor! Before his accident, I frequently saw him out in his yard, mowing, tending to his garden, gathering firewood, and even putting to practice for his many golf games! He was such a ray of sunshine and I was so glad to see him when his family would bring him from the care center for gatherings at his house. He will be truly missed. My thoughts & prayers are with all of you.

Vollmer Family -- I am sorry to hear of Mr. Vollmer's passing. He was an excellent father, parishioner, and neighbor (a few blocks down, of course, from 212 N. State!). I was fortunate to have known him. I know my father and mother (both deceased) held Herb with high esteem, as did the entire Freeburg community. He may have been a silent man, but he was well respected. I am so sorry he is gone, but memories of him live on. Thank you.
