Imogene “Teasy” Brown, nee Mason, 80, of Caseyville, IL, passed from labor to reward on Saturday, September 10, 2016.

Born January 22, 1936, in Shuqualak, MS, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Inez Mason.

“Teasy,” as she was affectionately known, worked for many years at the Neighborhood House in East St. Louis, IL.  She enjoyed being a part of mentoring young people and sharing her infectious laughter.

She is survived by her dedicated son, Marlon Mason and daughter-in-law Deborah Wright-Mason of Shiloh, IL;
granddaughter, Monika S. Mason of Fairview Heights, IL;
grandson, Mason J. Black, also of Fairview Heights, IL;
bonus granddaughters, Raekil’ Wright Abdus-Salaam, Catrina D. Wright;
bonus grandson, Maalik’ J. Abdus-Salaam;
and two brothers, Joseph “Sonny” Mason, Jr. and Sylvester Mason, both of Belleville, IL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Brown; a brother, Lavada (Bede) Mason; three sisters, Marjorie Willis, Ernestine Carradine, and Debbra Mason; her favorite aunt, Betty Conrad; and a host of other family members and friends.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Imogene’s name be made to Heartland Hospice.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Services:  Per Imogene’s request, her body has been donated to science in search of a cure for cancer. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
