Mr. Beckner was a printer for the St. Louis Post Dispatch before his retirement. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Judith A., nee Scheibel, Beckner, whom he married on June 18, 1960, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, and who died on September 26, 2019; his parents, Oin and Nellia, nee Parvin, Beckner; three brothers, Lorrell, Wilbur, and Rodney Beckner; a sister, Virginia Tipton; and a sister in infancy, Linda Beckner.
Surviving are two sons, Wade R. Beckner of El Paso, TX, and Dale J. Beckner of Belleville, IL;
a daughter, Teresa J. (James) Lewis of Belleville, IL;
six grandchildren, Susan Williams, Miranda Beckner, Nathanial Beckner, Taylor Lewis, Ethan Lewis, and Noah Lewis;
two sisters, Doris “Maxine” Bosick of Belleville, IL, and Lois Stephens of Ashley, IL;
three brothers-in-law, William (Karen) Scheibel of Newington, CT, Stephen (Tobie) Scheibel of Orchard Lake, MI, and Jeffrey (Andrea) Scheibel of Cincinnati, OH;
a sister-in-law, Kay Ellen, nee Scheibel, Wilson of Roanoke, VA; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Standard CDC guidelines, including masks and social distancing, will be observed.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Reverend Cari Frus officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Shiloh, IL.
