Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Jack Yates, 70, of Belleville, IL, born July 29, 1947 in Dunsmuir, CA, died Saturday, October 7, 2017, at his residence.

Mr. Yates retired with 20 years of service with the United States Air Force as an air traffic control technician.  His second career was as a radiology technician at Forest Park Hospital, St. Louis, MO.  Jack loved to barbeque and was an avid photographer.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Jack Yates; his mother, Jeannette, nee Campbell, Patterson; and two brothers, Jerry A. Yates and William Young.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Dorothy E., nee Biggs, Yates;
four children, Bernard (Penny) Jones of Windsor, MO, Denise Jones-Boyle of Swansea, IL, Theresa Jones-Kebel of Fairview Heights, IL, and Jack Yates of Belleville, IL;
five grandchildren, Michael Jones, Littia Jones, Sarah (Ben) Etling, Cassandra Boyle, and Alicia Kebel;
a great-granddaughter, Emma S. Boyle;
and two sisters, Jeannette “Sue” (Jim) Fricke of Lansing, KS, and Maureen Young of Reading, CA.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

 Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A memorial services with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Doug Stewart officiating.
