
Jim was a former assembly line supervisor with Nordyne Inc. in St. Louis, MO, before his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL. Jim loved playing cards, especially the game cinch. He was an avid coon hunter and fisherman, and a member of the St. Clair County Anglers Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Verona, nee Marcinkowski, Davitz; two brothers, Jerry and Ronald Davitz; and his sister, Marcella (Delbert) Stirnaman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Frances E. “Fran”, nee Hund, Davitz, whom he married on November 10, 1973; his daughter, Mary Frances “Josie” Davitz; a sister, Bonnie (Carl “Spot”) Todd; a brother, Fred (Linda) Davitz; a goddaughter, Lisa (Jay) Wittenborn; his aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL, with Father Von Deeke officiating.
Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
