James Marshall Grissom, 56, of Belleville, IL, born November 29, 1964, in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Grissom worked as a cement mason for Cement Masons & Plasterers Local 90. He also worked at various restaurants and nightclubs in the area where his charismatic personality shined through.  Jim was in his best element when he was behind the bar.  He was a loving father, and grandfather, and especially loving son, caring for his mother for the past ten years.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James K. Grissom; and two sisters, Brenda Grissom and Dixie Ruliffson.

He is survived by his mother, Kathryn R., nee Jones, Grissom;
a son, James Cole Grissom;
a grandson James “Foster” Grissom;
a sister, Tammy (Doug) Morton;
and nieces and nephews.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021, at George Renner & sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Dr. Joseph Scheets officiating.

I was so saddened to read of Jimmy’s death…he was way too young! The Grissom family were our neighbors growing up & our brother Rick & Jimmy were playmates & friends. The Wegner family sends our deepest sympathies to all of you at the loss of a very special man, gone all too soon.

Shocked & saddened to hear Jim has passed. Had not seen him in a few years.He was always energetic, friendly, gracious, upbeat. Rest in peace sir.

I am soo stunned to hear about Jimmy's untimely passing. I have known him all my life - he was always a very caring individual who loved life and his family. My sincerest condolences for Tammy, Mrs. Grissom and his whole family.
