James Brian “Jimmy” Hassebrock, 49, of Mascoutah, IL, born March 11, 1967, in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Saint Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Jimmy worked as an armored car driver for Brinks Armored Transportation, and later owned and operated his own asphalt company.  A lover of baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs, he was a recommending baseball Scout for the Kansas City Royals and the Cincinnati Reds.  Jimmy was of the Lutheran faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Hassebrock; his grandparents; one brother-in-law, Gary Bradley; and his dear dog, Toby.

Surviving are his mother, Audrey V., nee Volkman, Hassebrock of Mascoutah, IL;
one step-daughter, Melissa (Steve) Harrell of Murray, KY;
two brothers, Michael (Donna) Hassebrock of Alpharetta, GA,
and Scott Hassebrock of Belleville, IL;
two sisters, Kathy Bradley of Belleville, IL,
and Diane Hassebrock of Swansea, IL;
special nieces and nephews, including Lauren Bradley,
Kristen Bradley,
and Nicholas Hassebrock, all of Chicago, IL;
his dear friend, Michelle Hassebrock of Murray, KY;
aunts and uncles;
and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or to St. Martin of Tours Lutheran Church, Mascoutah, IL.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Margo Peterson officiating.  Burial will be at 12 noon Friday at White Church Cemetery, Okawville, IL.
