Jim was one of the nicest persons one could ever meet. Always cheerful. His only character flaw was adding ice to an already cold beer. I met him in 1966 when we both played in the Sam Andria Quartet. Several years later, when Sam left, we formed Three Bags Full and, with Rich Jones, played for several years at Fischer's Restaurant. By the 80s my focus turned to another direction and we lost touch, but I'll never forget Jim's deep love for family, including his beloved wife Judy. Friend, may you rest in Heaven with the angels.

It's with sadness that I just found out that you have passed. I wish I had known sooner I could have come to see you one last time. You and Judy were a wonderful couple, and her and your friendship meant a lot to me, as well as Chip and Julie. I have many fond memories of you, even saying hello as I started to walk down the aisle of my wedding. You couldn't stay but you came anyway! May God bless and comfort you. Chip and Julie, may you find peace.

I’m thankful for years of friendship and brotherhood in music. He loved his music. After years of friendship his daughter married my stepson Marty which made us related and family. God bless you Jim. After living in this scary world, peace is here.🙏🏻❤️🎶
