James V. Stiebel I, 74, of New Baden, IL, born April 5, 1941, in Dardeen Prairie, Missouri, died Friday, February 26, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Stiebel was a retired plumber and a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters 101, Belleville, IL.  He was an avid Mater Dei football fan, who often traveled to out-of-town games.  Jim also loved NASCAR.  He enjoyed playing an active role in the lives of his grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Frances, nee Satter, Stiebel, who died on June 14, 2015; his parents, Harry J. and Cecilia, nee Mackenberg, Stiebel; a brother, Joseph Stiebel; and a sister, Rita Sweeney.

Surviving are two daughters and a son, Jana (Jeffrey) Miller of Millstadt, IL,
Julie (Dennis) Parker of Swansea, IL,
and James V. II (Amber) Stiebel of Breese, IL;
eight grandchildren, Jennifer and Jacob Miller,
Wyatt, Donovan, Evan, and Sydney Parker,
and James V. “Trey” III and Blakelyn Stiebel;
five sisters, Margaret Stiebel,
Helen Stiebel,
Aurelie Moore of Wentzville, MO,
Marie (Denny) Dains of Missouri,
and Laura Hughes of Pittsfield, IL;
a sister-in-law, Charlotte Satter of Florida;
a brother-in-law, Joel (Linda) Satter of Oklahoma;
and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Mater Dei High School Football Program.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral:  A Memorial Mass will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church with Msgr. James Buerster officiating.
