Janice Lynn Klaus, nee Wiget, 78, of Jacksonville, IL, formerly of Belleville, IL, born September 18, 1943, in Belleville, IL, died March 17, 2022, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, IL.

Janice attended the Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, IL and was active in many deaf organizations and churches throughout her life. She was a housewife and sold Tupperware. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her great-niece, Sophia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Roger A. Klaus, whom she married on May 2, 1974, and who died on January 15, 2008; and her parents, Everett and Jeanette, nee Voland, Wiget.

She is survived by a sister, Betty Higgerson; a niece, Nichol (Anthony) DelGiorno; and a great niece, Sophia DelGiorno.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, March 20, 2022, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL

 Funeral: Private family services will be held.

Private burial will be held at Grantfork UCC Cemetery, Grantfork, IL.

So very sorry for your loss. Janice always had a smile for me as she browsed the video DVDs that I brought from the public library, she was one of my best customers! We communicated by notes and my very inadequate fingerspelling, but always had a good visit. I know that everyone at Balsam/Spruce will miss her a lot.

Sorry to lose a cousin that always had a smile on her face and was one of the first to great others. She truly is an angel. Marge
