Janice Kay Munden, nee Schmitz, 70, of Collinsville, IL, born November 5, 1950, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, September 20, 2021, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.

Mrs. Munden was an executive secretary for the State of Illinois and for the U.S. federal government.  Janice loved taking care of her family, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward G. and Wilma, nee Laumbattus, Schmitz.

Surviving are her husband, William Munden of Collinsville, IL; two sons, Bryan Munden of Georgia, and Jason (Cindy) Munden of Smithboro, IL; two daughters, Nicole Munden of Collinsville, IL, and Melissa (Raymond) Hill of Collinsville, IL; three grandchildren, Mackenna Munden, Holden Munden, and Chase Hill; and five siblings, Nancy Buckley, Jon Schmitz, Tom Schmitz, Jay Schmitz, and Barb Schlect.

Memorials may be made to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.  Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation:  Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.  Standard CDC guidelines will be followed, including masks and social distancing.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2021, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Pastor Hal Santos officiating.

Please accept Dave and my deepest sympathy in the loss of Jan!! I was so sorry to hear of her passing! As you know we spent so many hours together playing and hanging out in the neighborhood. Brings back such good memories! Sorry we weren’t able to offer condolences in person but we just heard about her passing today.
