Jean was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She was the co-owner of Watkins Products, Fuller Brush, Avon Distributorship Company for 45 years. She retired in 2020, at the age of 92, due to the Pandemic. Jean was a celebrated Avon distributor until close to retirement. She celebrated her retirement solving murders with Law and Order and reading enough romance novels to become an author herself. Jean was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, and prayed the rosary daily.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harry B. Hutchings; a son, David William Hutchings in 2006; her parents, William G. and Marie, nee Gains, Anderson; two sisters, JoAnn Mertens and Shirley Green; and a brother, William Anderson.
She is survived by three children, Dennis “Hutch” Hutchings (Kim) of Austin TX, Dianne Marie Hutchings, and Dean Michael Hutchings (Rachel) of Skiatook, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, Melany Hutchings, Destiny Claunch (Bud), Matthew Hutchings (Sarah), Casey George (Jam), Courtney Banach, Benjamin Hutchings, ZaQue Hutchings (Kristen), Michael Hutchings, Katie Stokes (Tom), Cecilia Henderson (Kyle), and Daulton Henderson (Savanna); 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Anderson (Dawn); and a sister-in-law, Sue Anderson.
